About Us

We are a 501c3 organization

Ziggy's Second Chance Network is a small group of volunteers dedicated to providing a safe place for abused, neglected, and unwanted animals. We operate as a foster-based rescue group and as a community network to help educate and promote responsible pet ownership. We provide needy animals with a loving, nurturing environment until they can be placed into quality forever homes or with other partnering rescue groups.

Our focus began as primarily bully breeds (American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Bull Terriers, Bulldogs, and mixes). We strive to restore the reputation of these breeds. These intelligent, loyal, loving dogs are wonderful companions- and we wish to show people the true side of the bully breed. After spending significant amounts of time working in shelters, we realized that in addition to bully breeds, special needs and senior animals and cats were often misunderstood and overlooked, too! These days- our focus is the "under dog"- the thrown away, old, special cases no one wanted. Many of our fosters have become long term residents due to chronic health problems, and that's ok with us. We also coordinate trap-neuter-return clinics through out the year- because feral cats matter too, darn it. Let's fix 'em all!
